Throughout the past several decades, many lawmakers and lobbyists were trying to take down the laws which try to limit the amount of money which can be donated to a political campaign. The financial contributions made by a variety of incredibly wealthy individuals contributes to the political corruption and influence over the American political process. Many of these individuals are not even citizens of America.
For example, the Special Counsel Robert Mueller recently discovered a six-figure digital campaign is likely only the beginning. There are a variety of loopholes which make it difficult to discover how much money has been spent on the 2016 presidential election by foreign entities. One such corporate loophole in the law allowed a sizable donation from the Chinese to the Jeb Bush super PAC through a corporation. A Mexican entrepreneur also donated a sizable amount to super PACs through a company.
Luckily, a variety of liberals have made proposals to include acts in the Constitution which prevent foreign money from being donated to American political campaigns. End Citizens United is one such Political Action Committee that is dedicated to creating reform within political campaign financing.
End Citizens United was created in 2010 after the Supreme Court Decision that corporations can make unlimited contributions to political campaigns. The non-profit organization works through grassroots campaigns to raise funds to support candidates who seek to end the financial influence of the ultra-wealthy over political campaigns.
End Citizens United is dedicated to creating financial reform that would limit the way money can influence political elections. They seek to end the loophole which allow those with big money to buy the elections.
