Livio Bisterzo Combines Taste, Health, & Purpose Through Hippeas

If you are a snack hound, there is something you should be aware of. There are new and healthier snacks available that taste great. Livio Bisterzo just introduced a new snack called Hippeas, and organic chickpea puff that is gluten-free, vegan, 100 calories per pack and its kosher. The packs contain 3 grams of protein and fiber. Bisterzo, founder of Green Park Brands, says he wanted to deliver on both health and taste.

Starbucks recently added the product to the grab-and-go list of snacks they offer. They provide two flavors, Vegan White Cheddar and Far Out Fajita. Livio has been in the health food industry for the past seven years. The snacks are also sold through other health conscious stores like Whole Foods, Boots and Holland and Barrett.

The Hippeas product is partnered with Farm Africa, in an effort to support chickpea farmers in Eastern Africa. Green Park Brands offers six different flavors of Hippeas. There is the Happin’ Hickory, which is sweet tomato, onion, garlic and BBQ. Pepper Power is hot and salty. Maple Haze has a sweet syrup flavor. Vegan white cheddar, just without the cheese. The Sriracha Sunrise has a spicy jalapeno and paprika taste. The Far Out Fajita flavor is another spicy hot taste.

Livio Bisterzo, an Italian entrepreneur, lives in Los Angeles. He comes from a marketing background and has used his skills to start several lifestyle type companies. His first venture was in 2003, when he ran an events planning business. He started the Maddox Club, Pollen St, and consumer brands, Kyoku for Men, and Little Miracles.

In 2015, he started Green Park Holdings, a company focused on providing healthy food and drinks. His objective is to promote healthier food and drink items that also promote social change. Green Park Brands creates and invests in multi-channel, better-for-you food brands.

The HIPPEAS branding of Peas, Love and Giving Back is geared towards the millennial, “modern hippie” crowd. The motto is “tastes good and do good” can work together. Hippeas were launched in 2016. The design of the package plays on the yellow smiley face, just and updated version. Green Park plans to continue developing and offering new products that fit into their company’s motto.
