End Citizens United Wants To End Big Money In Political Elections

Hi-Tech Chronicle recently published an article titled “Russians Weren’t the Only Meddlers in the 2016 Election According to End Citizens United”. The article, written by James Andersen, discusses the Political Action Committee End Citizens United and the influence of foreign contributions to political campaigns.

There are a variety of committees researching and investigating the allegations that Russian companies paid for political ads on social media platforms to try and influence the 2016 presidential election. It is currently undetermined if American politicians were working directly with Russian officials throughout the elections, but it is clear that those elected have participated in the corruption of the electoral process.

Throughout the past several decades, many lawmakers and lobbyists were trying to take down the laws which try to limit the amount of money which can be donated to a political campaign. The financial contributions made by a variety of incredibly wealthy individuals contributes to the political corruption and influence over the American political process. Many of these individuals are not even citizens of America.

For example, the Special Counsel Robert Mueller recently discovered a six-figure digital campaign is likely only the beginning. There are a variety of loopholes which make it difficult to discover how much money has been spent on the 2016 presidential election by foreign entities. One such corporate loophole in the law allowed a sizable donation from the Chinese to the Jeb Bush super PAC through a corporation. A Mexican entrepreneur also donated a sizable amount to super PACs through a company.

Luckily, a variety of liberals have made proposals to include acts in the Constitution which prevent foreign money from being donated to American political campaigns. End Citizens United is one such Political Action Committee that is dedicated to creating reform within political campaign financing.

End Citizens United was created in 2010 after the Supreme Court Decision that corporations can make unlimited contributions to political campaigns. The non-profit organization works through grassroots campaigns to raise funds to support candidates who seek to end the financial influence of the ultra-wealthy over political campaigns.

End Citizens United is dedicated to creating financial reform that would limit the way money can influence political elections. They seek to end the loophole which allow those with big money to buy the elections.
